Why isn’t my rock glue bonding properly?
Check three conditions: 1) Temperature should be above 20°C / 68°F during application and curing; 2) Humidity should be below 70%; 3) The aggregate and base surface must be completely dry, clean, and free of dust, mud, or oil. Applying TerraTight Ease in cold, wet, or dusty conditions significantly reduces bonding strength.
How long does TerraTight Ease last before reapplication?
Under proper application conditions, TerraTight Ease typically lasts up to 1 year before requiring reapplication. We recommend reapplying after the winter season or after extreme weather events to maintain optimal bonding. Lifespan may vary depending on traffic, climate, and exposure.
Does it work on mulch and wood chips?
Yes. TerraTight Ease bonds wood chips, bark mulch, and pine straw as well as gravel and sand. For best results with mulch, ensure pieces are no larger than 5mm and apply in 2 thin coats. Pour-and-spray method works best for organic materials.
Will it darken the stones or give them a wet look?
TerraTight Ease dries crystal clear with a subtle glossy finish that gently enhances the natural color of stones. It does not produce a heavy ‘wet look’ coating — stones retain their natural appearance with slightly enriched tones.
Is it safe for pets, plants, and kids?
Yes. TerraTight Ease is a water-based, non-toxic formula. Once fully cured (72 hours after application), it is completely safe for pets, children, and plants. During application and curing, keep pets and children away from treated areas.
How long after application can it rain?
Avoid water contact for at least 24 hours after application. Full curing takes 72 hours. Do not apply TerraTight Ease if rain is forecast within 24 hours, as wash-off will reduce bonding strength and may leave a milky residue.
What size aggregate works best?
TerraTight Ease is optimized for aggregates up to 5mm in diameter: pea gravel, pebbles, small river rock, crushed gravel, decorative sand, red sand, mulch, bark, wood chips, and pine straw. For larger stones (5–20mm), additional coats and longer curing time may be required.
Can I jet wash the stones after curing?
Yes, but use a low-pressure setting (below 1000 psi / 70 bar) and keep the nozzle at least 30cm from the surface. High-pressure washing may dislodge bonded aggregate and damage the cured film. For routine cleaning, a garden hose or soft brush is recommended.
Will it cause water pooling or drainage issues?
No. TerraTight Ease creates a permeable bond that allows water to drain naturally through the aggregate. It does not seal the surface against water flow, so puddling and runoff issues are avoided.
